How to make the Perfect Moscow Mule

Memorial Day weekend is upon us. The weather is going to be beautiful so I hope everyone will be soaking up the sun and enjoying a little time by the pool with friends and family. The only other thing you need to make your weekend picture perfect is a little refreshing drink to sip on. Am I right? I don’t want to brag but I’ve mastered the Moscow Mule and I’m taking today to share my tips & tricks on how you can master them too!

Moscow mules are becoming such a fan favorite drink these days. They come in adorable little copper mugs and they’re very refreshing. I feel like they’re quick to be judged, and it’s assumed by many that they’re hard to make. Don’t be scared, these are very easy! It’s gathering the ingredients that’s the difficult part… and sharing, I’ve found that to be hard too – so stock up!!

Here’s what you’ll need:

What you need for a Moscow Mule

1. Vodka of your choice {I’m a huge Titos fan!} // 2. Ginger Beer {Trader Joe’s} // 3. Lime Juice // 4. Limes // 5. Jigger Measurement Tool {I love this one}

First things first, don’t forget your copper mug! I love these mugs, and these ones have a hammered texture to them. Make sure to fill that bad boy to the rim with ice.

How to make a Moscow Mule with Vodka

Start with 2 ounces of Vodka.

I use Tito’s vodka for my moscow mules, but you can use any brand of vodka or even gin {then it’s a gin mule!} TIP: My Jigger measures 1 oz. on one side and 1/2 oz. on the other. Some can be 1oz/2oz so just be sure to double check before you go mixing yourself a heavy handed drink on accident! I like this one and this one.

How to make a Moscow Mule Lime Juice

Next, 1 ounce of Lime Juice.

You can use fresh squeezed limes for this part, but when you’re dishing these delicious drinks out for a handful of friends at the pool it’s great to have a bottle of 100% lime juice on hand! TIP: You can get this at any grocery store in the juice section.

Fill to the top with Ginger Beer.

Ginger beer is not the same thing as ginger ale. It has a very specific ginger taste to it. I love Trader Joe’s brand, they sell them in 4 packs and you can guarantee I’ll be going to grab a pack or two for this weekend’s beautiful weather! TRICK: Ginger beer is non-alcoholic! Did you know that?
