What I Would Have Bought at the Lilly Pulitzer for Target Sale

Well, I think we all find ourselves in a little predicament right now. Lilly Pulitzer for Target. It’s been the talk of the town… or should I say the talk of the female population? Should we be mad, should we be in awe, should we just be plain old happy for the overall success of the line? Take you’re pick. Today, I’m gathering the items that I would have bought at the Lilly for Target sale… If it lasted long enough.

WARNING: this may be a touchy subject. Please read at your own risk.

First and foremost, the Lilly for Target collection launched on my birthday (so you can probably guess that I wasn’t spending my big 2-4 standing in line to fight someone for a few dresses or some pillows) And being from the north, I’m not a die hard Lilly Pulitzer fan – I found out about the brand in college and while I love the bright fun patterns, my college budget never really loved the prices so the most I splurged for was always a koozie or a planner. When Lilly and Target announced their collaboration I was excited. Not a camping out in front of the store all night excited, but I had my eye on a few items…

Now, I know a lot of people are a little… (I mean a lot) upset with Target right now. News and article headlines since last Sunday morning around 10am have been saying things like, “They came, they waited, they went home mad” via NY Times or “Lilly Launch Ignites Shopping Frenzy” via USA Today. The Target website was even down due to excessive traffic. You might be one of those who are very upset, you may be neutral on the subject, or you might not even know who this Lilly Character is. Whatever your stance, it’s alright. Everyone has an opinion.

Personally, I think Target is brilliant. Sure, they could have made a few adjustments due to the popularity of the already well known brand, maybe staggered the launch to 2 or 3 Sundays instead of one and being sold out forever. But, I mean – Props to Target for putting their brains together, knowing the market, and launching what was probably their most successful collaboration yet.

Can I get an amen? Anyways, now that I’m down from my soapbox – Here are the items I would have scooped up:

What are your thoughts on the Lilly for Target collaboration? Were you lucky enough to scoop something up?
